What is the ABHA Card?

The ABHA card is the printable identity card for your Ayushman Bharat Health Account. It shows your 14-digit ABHA number, your ABHA address, and a QR code that hospitals can scan to pull up your health profile instantly. If you are new to ABHA, start with our guide: What is ABHA Number and How to Create It.

Method 1: Download from the ABHA Portal

  1. Visit the official ABHA portal (abha.abdm.gov.in).
  2. Click Login and enter your ABHA number or ABHA address.
  3. Verify with the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
  4. On your dashboard, choose Download ABHA Card — a PDF with your QR code is saved to your device.

Method 2: Download from the ABHA App

  1. Install the official ABHA app from the Play Store or App Store.
  2. Log in with your ABHA address and OTP.
  3. Tap your profile — the card view has a Download button for a shareable image.

Method 3: Get It Printed at Your Hospital

Hospitals integrated with ABDM can generate and print your ABHA card at the registration desk in seconds. Facilities using Medi4u's ABHA ID Creation API or the ABDM Connector offer card download and printing as part of standard OPD registration — no portal login needed.

Forgot Your ABHA Number?

  • Use the Forgot ABHA option on the portal — verify via Aadhaar or mobile OTP to recover it.
  • If your mobile number changed, visit any ABDM-enabled facility; they can re-verify your identity and update your profile.

Why Keep Your ABHA Card Handy?

  • Faster OPD registration — hospitals scan the QR instead of typing your details. See how Scan & Share works.
  • Linked records — every prescription and lab report attaches to your account automatically at ABDM facilities.
  • One identity everywhere — the same card works at every ABDM hospital, lab, and pharmacy in India.
